Sealants
When Dr. Jackie applies a dental sealant, she paints a plastic coating on top of your teeth. This makes your teeth smooth, getting rid of the rough edges, depressions, and grooves that are commonly found on teeth. It is essentially a protective coating against tooth decay and cavities.
The most common place to paint sealants is on back teeth since they are often irregular. They can also be very hard to reach, even if you brush your teeth regularly. Dr. Jackie uses it more on children though she does perform sealants on adults too!
Clear Retainers
It can be beneficial to use a guard, or covering, to protect your teeth from grinding while sleeping. Similar to how a mouthguard protects teeth during sports, this layer prevents damage to the teeth that can occur naturally.
Clear retainers offer several advantages over traditional nightguards. Made from materials similar to Invisalign but thicker, they provide a more comfortable fit while protecting teeth against nighttime grinding. These retainers are custom-molded to your teeth, ensuring a secure hold that keeps your teeth in place. Additionally, clear retainers are more comfortable than standard nightguards, making them a preferable choice for many patients.
There are a wide variety of different types of mouthguards, ranging from pre-formed pieces to ones that are custom fitted to your teeth and jaws. Some of these can even be formed at home through a boil-and-bite process.
Root Canals
Root canals are needed when decay and bacteria spread for too long without treatment. At a certain point, this decay makes it to the pulp inside the tooth. This pulp includes nerves, therefore infection generally causes a lot of pain. Since this is happening on the inside of the tooth, you won’t necessarily see the damage. Instead, you could feel it through pain and notice other signs that include bleeding, swelling and bad breath.

Sleep Apnea
People who have sleep apnea never get the rest that they deserve. They have trouble breathing which constantly wakes them up throughout the night. Many people who have sleep apnea have multiple health problems. They are always exhausted. Being tired can affect people at home and at work. They may be miserable and have trouble concentrating. Sleep apnea can also affect their blood pressure, making them more likely to have strokes. There is a big risk with anesthesia since they have trouble breathing.

Extractions
An extraction is performed to remove a tooth, whether because of disease, crowding, or damage. When extractions are required, the area around the tooth will be numbed and Dr. Jackie will remove the tooth. A small amount of bleeding is normal, as your mouth will replace the removed tooth root by forming a blood clot in the area.

Fillings
Composite fillings act as a dentistry solution for problems such as tooth decay or cracks. A composite filling is a tooth-colored plastic and glass mixture used to restore decayed teeth. This procedure is also utilized for cosmetic improvements of the smile by fixing any discoloration or reshaping any disfigured teeth.

Oral Cancer Screenings
Nobody wants to hear that they may have oral cancer. Although it can be fatal, it is easier to treat the earlier it is caught. For this reason, Dr. Jackie is proud to assist her patients with an oral cancer screening. She wants to help her patients survive this often fatal disease.
Oral cancer will typically show up as white or red patches or lesions inside of your mouth. You may even notice the lesions on your tongue or on the floor of your mouth. Many people experience a hard time swallowing, bleeding in the mouth, or even swelling in your face or neck.

TMJ Treatment with Oral Appliances and Botox Injections
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders can cause a range of symptoms, including jaw pain, clicking or popping sensations, headaches, and difficulty chewing. These issues can significantly affect your quality of life, but effective treatment options are available.
Our Comprehensive Approach:
Customized Oral Appliances: Custom-fit oral appliances are a cornerstone of our TMJ treatment approach. These devices are designed to comfortably reposition the jaw, relieve pressure on the TMJ, and reduce symptoms such as pain and muscle tension. Our dental team will carefully assess your condition and create a personalized treatment plan that may include the use of oral appliances to address your specific needs.
Botox Injections for TMJ Relief: In addition to oral appliances, we utilize Botox injections as a complementary treatment option for TMJ disorders. Botox can effectively relax the jaw muscles that contribute to TMJ pain and discomfort. By targeting these muscles with precision, Botox helps to alleviate symptoms and improve jaw function.
